Not Quite Breaking News
Not being very familiar with Twitter, I was surprised to come across the fact that Twitter distributed breaking World News ( http://twitter.com/BREAKINGNEWS ) I always assumed Twitter was a frivolous way for celebrities to inform others of their trivial thoughts and ideas. Maybe I was wrong, for first time I am considering following something on Twitter. If a cynical pessimist like myself can be persuaded to consider change, what does that mean? Could this be one of the final coffin nails for print media and Network News programs?

certainly is ... why? because in print ads and newspapers, you read what you want. You know what twitter does, twitter allows you to only be updated with news that you are interested in. Or only what you have read to begin with.
ReplyDeleteTwitter is huge for business as well. It is a huge way to tweet to people who are interested in what you are trying to sell. If you have website based business you can link directly back to your website. It is advertising at its finest.
DJF, your insight is short-sighted. What do you know about website business anyway!
ReplyDeleteMr. Stuart,
ReplyDeleteHow is twitter different from e-mail sent directly to you from businesses that interest you. You have to CHOOSE to receive information. In the past, this was perhaps not so much a choice, as it was a chore to sift through the business thoughts of others in order to glean what you thought important, from businesses that were of interest.
I suggest devoting your efforts to new sights that are devoted to information dedicated to your particular interests. (See www.drudgereport.com or sight up for e-mail alerts from the Baton Rouge Daily Business Report.)
